At some point a bike will become worn out, unusable and junked. Every year millions of these junked bikes are discarded to curbside trash piles to be dumped in our landfills. Burying millions of bikes and bike tires in landfills poses many environmental problems. A better solution is to bring them to a bike shop where they can be properly dismantle and recycled. Once dismantled and separated, the worn out bike frames, tires, and various recyclable parts will head to recycling facilities, where they can be recycled back into reusable raw materials. These raw materials can then be reused to make various new products, including new bike frames, bike tires and other bike parts. Recycling worn out bikes reduces the impact to landfills, cut pollution, conserves energy, and also reduces the need to destroy wilderness to mine for more raw materials.

Where
The $25 bicycle recycling incentive program is the first of it's kind, and is currently being tested as a sustainable pilot program. All you need to do is bring your worn out bike in for recycling, and you'll receive a $25 credit towards a new bike from here. Please remember, each credit is good for a limited time, and only one $25 credit can be applied towards the purchase of one new bike.

For a period of 60 days after the purchase of your reconditioned bicycle, I offer a warranty on the following items: FRAME / FORK / FUNCTIONALITY OF SHIFTERS, DERAILLERS AND BRAKING SYSTEMS. This warranty DOES NOT include flats, and normal wear and tear or damages as the result of misuse, improper handling or accidents. To get warranty service the entire bike needs to be bought or shipped to the Chatham NJ location at the bike owners expense. All sales of used bikes are final and not Returnable. If and item is marked as is, the above warranty will not apply.

Bianchi Castro Valley Commuter 2007

You can use any old two-wheeler for commuting and running errands, but your enjoyment and satisfaction will really take off when you ride a bike specially designed for personal transportation. The Castro Valley has more commute-specific refinements than any other bike out there: Wide, low 18-speed gearing, fenders, and, for the pre-dawn or after-work darkness, a hub-generated headlight and reflective-sidewall tires. The whole package rolls on a road-worthy steel frame with well-balanced geometry for cruising in traffic and along bike paths. Riding a bike to get from point A to point B is a good thing. The Castro Valley makes it great. It's a shame in 2007 Bianchi stop offering these beautiful thin tube DB Chromoly(CrMo) steel Commuter bikes with hub-generated headlight. Anyway, here is a hard to find brand new left over with 18 speeds and 700 wheels.
